Why I use the Cartridge System

Cheyenne Safety Cartridges

The "cartridge system" has been a significant change to the professional tattoo application. I say this because its so radically different from a technical and mechanical standpoint. One popular way of tattooing is to use a steel pen shaped tube and a long needle both attached to a very heavy and very loud tattoo machine powered by two electromagnetic coils. This setup would be required for each size/configuration of tattoo needle one would want to use to apply a tattoo. It used to be the only way. Many believe it is still the only way. Those artists are "loyal to the coil". I used to share this opinion myself but it took only doing one tattoo using the Cheyenne Hawk Thunder and their cartridge system and that experience changed my mind forever.

The cartridge system uses the same basic mechanism but compressed into a single modular cartridge that allows the artist to alternate multiple cartridges during the tattoo process.

Cheyenne, the creators of this system proposed the idea of this single rotary based tattoo machine and their cartridges as an alternative to the comparatively very high maintenance system that used to be the industry wide standard.

I'm of the opinion that this system also provides a tremendously safer alternative to traditional methods of modern tattooing.

Cheyenne has said this about safety

Our SAFETY CARTRIDGE module is so sophisticated that it does not allow the ink, ... Our sterilisation process guarantees a long shelf-life for of up to 5 years. ... Our patented modular system ensures that you can concentrate on your art and ...

This system saves me time so in-turn saves money for my clients.
